Erasers are actually a Tamers and Digimon fusion. The Digimon and Tamers collected by Kernel were absorbed by the Ancient Tree and then became a unique digital being with a quantity of data similar to that of a Digimon, an Eraser. These would wander around the Digital World capturing more Tamers and Digimon repeating the process. The reason for this was that there was a lot of trash data in the Digital World that needed to be deleted. The process would then serve for all Data to return to where they came from, and then the useless would be erased to give rise to something that would be useful.
